4th of July seen the arrival at SGDetailing.com a 2014 Audi A7 and a new customer from Livingston. The owner had previously visited and wanted to know more about what Car Detailing and Protection exactly was. I spent about an hour with the customer washing his car and explaining the basics of car detailing, without boring him to death. I was pleased that after that hour spent the customer promptly booked his car in for a Protection Detailing Package.
The car arrived early morning and a "Safe Wash " was undertaken straight away as clouds above looked rather dark. Once given a " Safe Wash " the Audi A7 was taken inside and hand dried off to start the process of Protection. Once dried the car was then blow dried to remove hidden water particles that would impede on the Protection Process.
Once completely dried the car was then given a clay bar treatment to remove the finer particles of dirt before using a Rupes Big Foot Duetto to add a deep shine and lustre to the paint surface. Using a Rupes Fine White Pad and Diamond Compound the entire car was polished to ensure the surface was at it's best before applying a quartz coating.
Several hours later the car was polished and almost ready for Gtechniq Coating to be applied. Prior to this the car was wiped down using Gtechniq Panel Wipe to remove all residue that was left after the machine polishing stage. Once completed I then began applying Gtechniq EXO v2 across the entire car starting first with the bonnet, then the roof, the boot, then along each side of the car. The method I use is to apply two areas then remove, this gives longer bonding time but not too long as too make the coating hard to remove. After each application I also use halogen lamps to cure quicker and allow the paint on the car to increase in heat, I find this allows better bonding but not too long as too bake the Gtechniq on too hard.
Once the entire was done I then using plush microfibre gave the car a final clean to remove any and all residue. As the car was still with me for another hour, I went inside and hoovered and quickly done the windows. Then I gave the wheels a coating of Wheel Guard from Chemical Guys UK.
Pleased to say the owner turned up and was very pleased with the final result.
